CHILAPATA FOREST

Chilapata Forest, nestled in West Bengal's Dooars region near Jaldapara National Park, is renowned for its dense vegetation, rich biodiversity, and historical allure. Situated in the Alipurduar district near Hasimara, it forms a vital wildlife corridor between the Buxa Tiger Reserve and Jaldapara National Park. The forest's lush flora, comprising diverse trees, shrubs, and grasses, provides a thriving habitat for an array of wildlife, including elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, deer, wild boars, birds, and reptiles. Notably, Chilapata is home to the Indian bison and the rare clouded leopard.
