The name 'Dooars' is derived from 'doors' or ‘Dwar’. All road connections between Bhutan with India are through the Dooars region. 'Dooars' is further divided into two regions namely Western Dooars in Bengal and Eastern Dooars in Assam . 

Dooars is blessed with dense natural forests and lush green tea gardens. It is criss crossed by meandering rivers streams like Teesta, Murti, Daiana, Raidak, Torsha, Jaldhaka, sankosh and Kaljani. Dooars offers visitors a captivating blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.
