JALDAPARA NATIONAL PARK

Jaldapara National Park, nestled in West Bengal's Alipurduar district, is a vital wildlife sanctuary known for its diverse ecosystem, notably housing the Indian one-horned rhinoceros. Spanning 216.51 square kilometers in the Eastern Himalayan foothills by the Torsa River, it originated as a sanctuary in 1941 and attained national park status in 2012. The park's landscape features lush grasslands, riverine forests, and tall elephant grasses, nurturing various trees, shrubs, and medicinal plants.
